Volponi Skype Visit
He's Baaaaack....
May 4, 2011: mark your calendar…
Paul Volponi will be visiting Strasburg High School via Skype. I would like to graciously acknowledge the Moore Educational Trust Board of Trustees for fully funding this project. The funding will allow us to purchase 70 additional copies of Mr. Volponi's books as well as the technology required to allow this “visit” to happen. This is an outstanding opportunity and one that we have looked forward to for a long time.

Up close and personal: chatting with the author!
Thirty five high school English students...perfectly quiet...listening to every word. The long anticipated phone conference with Mr. Volponi was excellent and every student that had a question was able to speak to our guest. This was indeed a wonderful opportunity and we greatly appreciate the time Mr. Volponi spent with us today.

Mrs. White shared a comment from one of her students:
They had lots of positive things to say about his books; one student remarked about Black and White, "This is the first book I actually finished, and my Dad is reading it, too." I'm glad we've done this. :)
HOW COOL IS THAT???

Meet Team Volponi!
Our students have been reading Volponi books, writing about Volponi books, and talking about Volponi books in anticipation of our phone conference on Thursday, May 14, 2009. This has been an exciting event with numerous positive comments! Meet Ms. Brown and her 11th grade English Class on the left and Mrs. White and her 10th grade English class on the right!

Strasburg High School Welcomes Paul Volponi
Paul Volponi will be "visiting" Strasburg High School on May 14, 2009 during second block (9:15) with Ms. Brown's English 11 and Mrs. White's English 10 classes. After learning that our Moore Grant request was not successful, Mr. Volponi graciously suggested that he could still visit the school using a conference call. While we would still love to have the Volponi family visit Strasburg at some future date, we are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to speak with Mr. Volponi through this electronic medium. We are all looking forward to this event and sincerely appreciate his generous offer to make this visit happen for our students.
